Okay, I Admit I Need to Do Better

I've been a crappy blogger these past months.

Over the summer I was so focused on writing well and telling stories. Now I just toss any old thing up here because I don't have time to go down the story telling rabbit hole and really lose myself in narrative. Or whatever, you know what I mean. Don't you?

Returning to school has taken up a lot of my focus... Writing academically takes up a lot of my will to concentrate. And I still have two little boys who rely on me. So that takes up a lot of my free time (not that I'm complaining. I love those boys).

But there's a problem. I don't want my blog to suck. And I don't want you to go away. And I want you to start commenting again (because you've definitely stopped, most of you).

I want to do better. I want to write posts that are actually worth reading and commenting on. And then when you comment, I want to return the favour by visiting your spectacular blogs and commenting in return.

So I'm going to try to be better. It's a New Years resolution, I guess.

So, there you go.

Good luck with that:) I am very inconsistent with my blogging and writing. When I'm on a roll, nothing stops me and then.... nothing, it can seem for weeks. I have to remember to really capitalize on those good days and try to figure out a way to keep those 'funks' at bay.

Ditto what Julia said. My blog isn't really focused on any subject in particular....just happenings around our home and in our lives. Having a 22 y.o. and 16 y.o. in the home, I tend to get distracted and not write any thing for quite a while.

We'll be ready and waiting when you do 'come back'. Don't be so hard on yourself. If you're struggling to say anything 'worthy', blog about that...truth brings an immense amount of enjoyment to read :)

Hey, we've all been there. Sometimes there just isn't anything good to write about. And sometimes life gets in the way. (Personally, while I love blogging, if there's a choice between being with family or sitting in front of the computer, I'm going to choose family every time. And that's a GOOD thing). So go and do what you need to do...we'll still be around when you get back.

This is your blog! Write whatever the eff you want. Blogs aren't supposed to be grandiose novels or take over our lives. Granted my blog ... um, well, I suppose I follow that principle too well, but on the other hand I think the appeal in reading blogs is a lot like reality tv. Something genuine is way better than contrived. So say I. The novella-writing spirit will return.

You have your hands full, but your blog is still appealing. I just recently started blogging and shortly after found your blog. I'm taking classes too, struggling to keep up with everything at home, and with my kids as well. Somehow we get it all done. I'll keep reading when you post. :)

You are in school and have your children to take care of! Take it easy on yourself! But know that we'll be here waiting and wanting to read posts from you whenever you get the urge/find the time! :)

It's hard to keep up, trust me, I know and I'm not even in school like you! We'll still be here even if you need a break!

I'm still reading! Sorry I haven't been commenting much. I'm also slacking a bit on the blogging front, but I'm working on getting back into the swing of things. Give yourself a break. You've got a lot going on, don't worry about us. We'll be here when you post.

I think we have all been there. No worries! You have a lot on your plate. We are all still reading, don't stress!

(just missing you, though.)

Real life has to come first. And I've found that since I've been homeschooling that blogging has had to shift waaaaaay back on my list of priorities and that's fine - but on the other hand, I don't want to ever seen indifferent or ungrateful to the people who comment.

Oh look! I made this comment all about me! What I mean is: I hear ya.

I know just what you mean. I have lost my blogging-mojo, but know that I won't be pressing the delete button on blogger yet.

Here's to happy blogging in 2010!
